We finished up our Zoology 3 book last week (with the exception of a long term experiment) and are starting Zoology 2 book this week. Yes, I know that I'm doing them backwards!
The new book begins by discussing our classification system for animals and challenged us to find a mnemonic device to remember the order of the classification sections. Just in case you don't remember them, they are Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. Here's what we came up with:
Mika: Kittens Pounce Carefully On Fancy Glass Skates
Sam: Kittens Pass Cats Or Frogs Giving Signs
Me: the King's Planet Can Order Favorite Games on Saturday
I think the kids did a great job. I think Mika's was especially good; it shows how good she is with words.
How about you? Can you come up with a clever mnemonic device for the animal classification system? Please share your ideas!
