Sammy, our 9-year old, has officially been invited to test for his taekwondo black belt in June. It's a goal he has worked hard to achieve for going on 4 years now.  In addition to progressing in belt levels, he has also taken part in 5 tournaments during that time, with 5 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. All that was difficult enough, but it was also last year that we switched schools to one that taught far deeper and wider, so he had to learn a great deal more this past year. But learn he did, and it's been quite a year of growth for him.

The black belt testing is far more rigorous than previous tests, and is actually validated back at the World Taekwondo Federation headquarters in Seoul. He'll receive an official certificate from the WTF and a wallet-sized ID that identifies him as a black belt at any TKD organization in the world, among other things.

It is also much more expensive than normal testing.  As such, we are looking for sponsors to help defray that cost. So help a great kid, and let us help you promote you/your blog/your site/your business!

For any donation $20 or more:

• Results posted on both this blog and mine with recognition given to sponsors (listed by name and/or business name); will be promoted on Facebook and Twitter daily (during peak traffic times) for a week after testing as well as a week after he gets results.

For any donation $50 or more:

• Results posted on both this blog and mine with recognition given to sponsors (listed by name and/or business name, along with links for website, email, Facebook, Twitter or other linkage desired); will be promoted on Facebook and Twitter daily for a week after testing as well as a week after he gets results.

• Once results received, will be submitting story to the Tacoma News Tribune, The Olympian, and other regional media, with mention of major sponsors.

• Invitation to attend the actual testing on June 3rd.

For any donation $100 or more:

• Same as above, but adds your company/site logo to postings and story submitted to media.
