The kids and I went to the Puyallup Fair on Friday and I couldn't help notice that breastfeeding in public was rampant every where we went.
First, we went to see the piglets and their mother was breastfeeding them in public, in full view of everyone! Not only that, but she just had her breasts hanging out for all to see. No one demanded that she take it to the restroom or use a blanket to cover up. In fact, people were gawking at her, even encouraging their kids to take a look. It was just shocking.
Then we went to visit the cows and they had their breasts hanging out too. A sign over one particular cow even pointed them out, saying her breed had "attractive mammary systems".
Feeling encouraged by the acceptance of public breastfeeding at the Fair, this human decided it was probably ok to let her 7 week old eat in public as well. She took a little more care in covering up though.
P.S. The white under my shirt is a double-shirt look, not my bra hanging out.

I saw the pig too and I heard people saying things like, "Oh! So cute!" and "Adorable" and "Precious". Have you ever got that reaction from anyone when you were breastfeeding??? :-P
I've been waiting to see this. Very nicely written. Glad to see you finally posted it. I love the humorous angle.
Great post!
Attractive mammary systems. I'll have to remember that line.
